وأضاف أن السيارات الكهربائية صديقة للبيئة أكثر من موديلات السيارات الأخرى، التي تعمل بالبنزين أو الديزل، مقارنة بالكهربائية التي تقل انبعاثات وأضرار البيئة، موضحًا أن السيارة الكهربائية لا تؤدى لإخراج انبعاثات من أنبوب العادم، فلا يوجد انبعاث لغاز ثاني أكسيد الكربون أو أكسيد النيتروجين أثناء القيادة، مضيفًا أنها هي الأقل على المستوى التكلفة والوقود.
وأكمل منير، أن الاعتماد ستعمل على تحسين جودة الهواء، لأنها تعتمد على بطارية لتشغيل محركها ولا تحرق أي وقود داخليًا، كما إنها تتطلب كميات أقل من السوائل الأكثر تلويثا مثل زيت المحرك والسوائل المبردة.
وأكد أن الأبحاث أظهرت أن السيارات الكهربائية أكثر كفاءة، فهي صديقة للبيئة، وحتى إذا كان يترتب عليك شحن سيارة كهربائية باستخدام الكهرباء المولدة من الوقود الأحفوري، فإن كفاءة استهلاك الوقود في السيارة الكهربائية أعلى بنسبة 4٪ من كفاءة سيارة البنزين.
وأضاف أنه بنهاية عام 2021 ستكون السيارة الكهربائية قادرة على قطع مسافة مساوية لسيارة تعمل بالبنزين بينما تستهلك فقط ثلثي الطاقة.
